GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS In Autumn 1989, Greenford High School, formerly Greenford County Grammar School, will have been in existence for fifty years. The Golden Jubilee will be commemorated by:- 1. A DINNER on November 18th (7.30 p.m.) at the school. Caterers: Heriot Catering. Music of the '30's to the '80's played by an Ensemble from the Metropolitan Police Band which has given concerts at the School annually for the past nine years. An opportunity for a little dancing following the dinner. 2. OPEN HOUSE: During the fortnight, November 6th to 18th visitors, singly or in groups, are encouraged to come and tour the school. (If groups of past pupils would like to have a get-to-gether at the school please contact me.) 3. OPEN EVENING: November 7th (6 - 9 p.m.) Pupils at work and displays of current work and facilities at the school. 4. SPORTING EVENTS involving past and present pupils during the day on November 11th. 5. MUSIC HALL EVENT on 10th and 11th November (7.30 p.m). Audience seated at tables. Waiter/Waitress service with drinks. Simple meal (in price of ticket). Acts in the programme will span the fifty years of the school's existence performed by present and past pupils, staff, and parents.. 6. A SCHOOL PLAY is being planned for some time in the week of November 13th (probably Tuesday the 14th). 7. A COMMEMORATIVE BOOK about the school and its history (professionally printed). If you think you, or a group of you, might be interested in participating in the Music Hall please contact Mrs. M. Ingram at the school as soon as possible. We are looking for photographs and memorabilia for display purposes; and photographs which might be useful for inclusion in the commmemorative book. If you have such items and are willing to lend them to us I would like to hear from you. I have enclosed a reply slip for you to indicate your interest in the Jubilee Dinner, Music Hall and Commemorative Book.
